Hyundai is revamping its sales strategy for the Grand i10 NIOS with the introduction of the new ‘Corporate Edition’. This variant targets value-conscious buyers, particularly young professionals and first-time car owners, by offering a compelling combination of affordability, features, and safety.

Addressing Declining Sales:

While the Grand i10 NIOS has been a bestseller for Hyundai, recent sales figures show a decline. In March 2024, sales dipped by 46% year-over-year. The Corporate Edition aims to reverse this trend by injecting fresh appeal into the lineup.

Enhanced Style and Convenience:

The Corporate Edition boasts a series of aesthetic upgrades to turn heads. This includes:

  • Eye-catching 15-inch dual-tone styled steel wheels
  • Black painted radiator grille for a sleek profile
  • Body-colored door handles and ORVMs for a cohesive look
  • LED tail lamps and daytime running lamps (DRLs) for better visibility and a modern touch

The car is available in seven monotone colors, including a new option – Amazon Grey. A subtle ‘Corporate’ emblem on the tailgate completes the exterior refresh.

Functional and Comfortable Interior:

The cabin features a dual-tone grey color scheme for a contemporary feel. Key features include:

  • 8.89 cm speedometer with multi-information display
  • Driver seat height adjustment for enhanced comfort
  • Illuminating footwell lighting for a touch of ambiance
  • Front room lamp and front passenger seat back pocket for storage

Tech and Safety Features:

The Corporate Edition prioritizes connectivity and entertainment with a 17.14 cm touchscreen display audio system. Bluetooth and USB connectivity along with four speakers ensure a rich audio experience. Additional convenience features include:

  • Electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs)
  • Auto down power window for driver’s side
  • Rear AC vents for improved cabin comfort
  • Fast USB charger (Type C) for quick phone charging
  • Passenger vanity mirror for added convenience
  • Rear power outlet for powering devices on the go

Safety remains a priority with features like:

  • Tire-pressure monitoring system
  • Six airbags as standard
  • Seatbelt reminder for all occupants
  • Day & Night inside rear-view mirror (IRVM) for better visibility
  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
  • Central door locking for enhanced security

Powertrain and Pricing:

The Corporate Edition retains the proven 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine, available with either a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) or a Smart Auto AMT gearbox, catering to diverse driving preferences.

Hyundai has positioned the Corporate Edition competitively. Prices start at Rs 6,93,200 for the manual transmission variant and Rs 7,57,900 for the automatic variant (ex-showroom). This pricing strategy offers exceptional value for money, making the Corporate Edition an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.

Hyundai’s Optimism:

Hyundai is confident that the Corporate Edition will resonate with young Indian customers, particularly Gen Z and Millennials, who prioritize affordability, safety, and features. With its refreshed design, focus on convenience, and commitment to safety, the Corporate Edition injects new life into the Grand i10 NIOS lineup and aims to reclaim its position as a sales leader in the Indian hatchback segment.
