The EV segment in India has a new player in the form of a Tata Nexon. But before you invest in the Tata’s Electric vehicle, here are some important points you need to know about Nexon EV. The Tata Nexon EV is all set to be launched in India in the coming weeks. It is the first personal electric vehicle from the Tata. The expected price is between Rs. 15 lakh and Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Tata Nexon EV will also be the first electric vehicle to use the new Ziptron powertrain technology.

The Nexon electric vehicle is available in three variants — XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux.
Tata Nexon EV Features
The Nexon EV filled with lot of features like automatic projector headlamps with DRLs, fog lamps with cornering ability, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, automatic rain-sensing wipers, fully automatic climate control, rear AC vents, leatherette seats, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, keyless entry, push-button start, camera-based reverse park assist, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, electric tailgate and dual-tone sunroof.
Tata Nexon EV Safety
The safety of the vehicle is same the regular Tata Nexon. The Tata Nexon is the safest car in India and this will directly translate to the Electric variant of the vehicle. The vehicle will have all standard safety features and along with this the car’s design makes it structurally strong and resists impact damage. The Nexon EV will get all safety features from regular Nexon. like dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake distribution) and CSC (cornering stability control). The EV complies with the latest full-frontal, side-impact and offset impact crash regulations.
Tata Nexon EV Range
After a single charge, Nexon EV is able to make the mark of 300 km. The best part is that the vehicle can charge on any 15 A wall socket. This makes the vehicle prepared for India. Tata has analyzed the problem that India faces with an electric vehicle. Majorly in India, we do not have the infrastructure for electric vehicles. To provide a low center of gravity the batteries are placed on the floor of the vehicle.
Tata Nexon EV Motor
In the Nexon EV 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor is used. The motor generates 129 PS and 245 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to an automatic transmission. You have two modes to use one is the Drive mode and other is the Sport mode.
Tata Nexon EV Battery
The new Nexon electric vehicle is available with a 30.2 kWh li-ion battery. Tata Motors claims that the battery is IP67 certified and has been tested for more than one million km it sounds good.
Tata Nexon EV Battery Warranty
There is a warranty of eight years or 1.60 lakh km on the battery of the Nexon electric vehicle. This is quite sufficient to attract buyers.
Tata Nexon EV Charge
Through a regular charger (any 15 AMP plug point), you can fully charge the Nexon from 20 percent in eight hours. A fast charger (CCS 2) will take 60 minutes to charge the battery up to 80 percent.
