Scoprio N Received 5 star Global NCAP Rating

The 2022 Mahindra Scoprio N has finally been tested in Global NCAP and the crash test results show a healthy rating for the SUV. Mahindra Scorpio-N received 5 star Global NCAP rating. The Mahindra and Mahindra claims it becomes the first body-on-frame SUV to secure 5-star Global NCAP rating.

Scoprio N Highlight points

  1. Mahindra Scorpio N scored 29.25 out of 34 for adult occupant.
  2. Child occupant Mahindra Scorpio N receives 28.94 points out of 48.
  3. Mahindra SUV performed also well under side impact tests.

Mahindra Scoprio N: child occupant crash test rating

The Mahindra Scorpio-N received 28.93 points out of 49 in the child occupant crash tests, in result received a 3-star rating.

Frontal impact: the child seat for the 3 year old was installed rearward facing using the i-size anchorages and a support leg and it was able to prevent head exposure during the frontal impact offering full protection. Side impact: both CRS’s offered full side impact protection.
The car does not offers 3 point belts in all seating positions. The car offers the possibility to disconnect the passenger airbag in case a rearward facing CRS will be installed in this position. Most of the CRS installation passed for the assessed CRS.

Mahindra Scoprio N: adult occupant crash test rating

Mahindra’s Scorpio N SUV received 29.25 points out of a total of 34 in adult occupant crash tests, hence, it scored 5-star rating. Global NCAP rated the protection for driver’s and passenger’s head and neck as good. However, protection for the driver’s and passenger’s chest is shown as marginal. 

Global NCAP includes some new procedure, in the side impact test with a deformable barrier, Global NCAP seen the good protection to the occupants and Scorpio N scored 16 points out of a possible 17. The Mahindra SUV received an ‘OK’ rating for the side pole impact tests, however, the chest region of the occupants got a ‘weak’ rating and need to improve it. 

Global NCAP noted that the bodyshell and the footwell area of the Scorpio-N find stable and capable of withstanding further loadings.

Mahindra Scorpio N Pricing & Variants

There are five trim levels for the Mahindra Scorpio N: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L. Customers can choose between the Z8 and Z8L’s 6 and 7-seat configurations, while the rest only receives the 7-seat configuration as standard. The prices of the SUV starts from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 23.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
