MG Motor India is trying to acquire Ford India’s manufacturing plants in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. As we all know Ford declared that Ford is going to stop manufacturing in India. Ford asked Maruti Suzuki and Tata to purchase their plants but both companies are not interested. Indian automobile industry wants this deal to completed. There 4000 direct employee were working and they will lose job.
The Chinese-owned British carmaker had previously approached Ford for contract manufacturing, however, the expansion plans were dropped due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Two options are on table one is MG Motors India can take Ford plants on lease or second is MG Motors India ca fully acquire Ford India’s plants. Ford India is also trying to talk with Ola Electric and Mahindra and Mahindra for their plants.
No need customers to panic on Ford India is shutting down their manufacturing plant. Ford will continue their spare part availability and service to their customer. Ford India’s All made-in-India cars like the Figo, Freestyle, Aspire, EcoSport and Endeavour quite popular in India.
