Hello friends, yes it’s right top selling car, most popular hatchback is now going to discontinue. The Maruti Alto K10 has been leading the top-selling entry-level hatchback car model in the Indian market over a decade. Maruti Suzuki has stopped production of the Alto K10 in Indian Factory. But still The company has not removed the vehicle listing from its official website because of they will first clear stock of Alto K10. Dealerships however, are still selling the model with the idea of clearing stocks. The car will however continue to remain on sale until stocks last. Dealers across the country have stopped bookings for the Alto K10.
About Maruti Suzuki Alto K10
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 was one of the top selling car, most popular hatchback in Indian market. The Alto is now available only in its 796cc three-cylinder model. Yes, It’s Alto 800 is now only available. The Alto K10 is powered by a BS4-compliant 1.0-litre K10B engine which develops 67 PS at 6000 RPM and 90 Nm at 3500 RPM. Transmission options were available like a five-speed manual, and a five-speed automatic. The Alto K10 was also available with CNG engine option that produced 58bhp of power and 78Nm of torque. This engine came with five-speed manual transmission.
When was launched Alto K10:
The first-generation Maruti Alto K10 was launched during 2010, the second-generation all new model launched during 2014, and even got a facelift model during 2019. The outgoing facelift model featured minor changes, like additional safety features like ABS with EBD, a driver’s side airbag, rear parking sensors, a seat belt reminder, and a high-speed alert.
Reason to Discontinued Alto K10
The reason why Maruti has decided Discontinued the Alto K10 is that it already sells the S-Presso with same price range which is doing good in terms of sales. Moreover, the the S-Presso comes with a raised ground clearance, touchscreen music system, better seat comfort and good design than the Alto K10. The S-Presso gets a BS6 compliant engine as well and will get CNG variant soon. The Alto K10’s prices was at Rs. 3.70 to Rs. 4.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai), while the S-Presso is available in the range of Rs. 3.71 to 4.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
