Hey everyone, Mahindra is gearing up to launch the new XUV300 and the excitement is real! So far, they’ve dropped two teasers giving us a sneak peek of its fresh design, updated dashboard, and a stunning panoramic sunroof. And here’s the latest buzz – the XUV300 might just set a new safety benchmark in its segment. Let’s dive into the details.
ADAS on the Horizon
The XUV300 is aiming for a 5-star crash test rating, just like its predecessor. Given Mahindra’s track record, we don’t expect them to skimp on safety. In the current market, only the Nexon facelift boasts a 5-star safety rating. But what sets the XUV300 apart is the rumored inclusion of a level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This could feature adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist. While the Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet do offer ADAS, it’s a level-1 system, and they haven’t undergone crash tests yet. Combined with the expected 7-airbags and all-disc brakes, the XUV300 is shaping up to be the safest bet in its class.
XUV300 Safety – What’s New in the Facelift?
Expect the XUV300 to sport a revamped design with fresh LED headlamps, DRLs, and interconnected LED tail lamps. Inside, it’s borrowing some cues from the XUV400 with a sleek floating infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, a revamped steering wheel, and the much-talked-about panoramic sunroof. Other anticipated features include wireless phone charging, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.
Under the Hood – Powertrain Details
The new XUV300 will likely retain its current engine lineup. This means you can expect the two turbo petrol options – a 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.2-litre TGDi turbo petrol, both available with manual and AMT gearboxes. Fingers crossed, Mahindra might introduce a proper automatic gearbox for one of these petrol engines. On the diesel front, expect a 1.5-litre engine delivering 115bhp and 300Nm of torque.
Launch Date and Pricing
Mahindra has kicked off the teaser campaign for the XUV300, and it’s slated for launch on April 29, 2024. Pricing details are expected to be unveiled on the same day. Wondering about the price tag? Currently, the XUV300 is priced between Rs 9.39 lakh and Rs 17.79 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With the facelift, anticipate a price hike of around Rs 50k to 60k across different variants.
