The all-new Kia Clavis has been generating buzz for months, promising a unique SUV experience without direct competitors. Recent spy shots captured in Hyderabad offer a glimpse of exciting features.

ADAS Confirmed

The front grille reveals a black element that likely houses the radar for an ADAS system. Kia already uses similar technology in the Seltos and Sonet, and the Clavis appears to be getting Level-2 ADAS with features matching those SUVs.

Panoramic Sunroof Expected

Another potential exclusive feature is a panoramic sunroof, setting the Clavis apart from the feature-packed Kia Sonet. Kia aims to position the Clavis as a more premium option.

Additional Features Spotted

The spy shots also show automatic LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, and LED DRLs reminiscent of the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO. Rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, 12 parking sensors, and flush door handles are also on the table.

A New Segment SUV

Kia hopes to carve out a new SUV segment with the Clavis. Expect a unique design with rugged details and black plastic cladding for a macho look. Interestingly, despite being a sub-4-meter SUV like the Sonet, the Clavis promises more second-row space.

Engine Options

The Clavis will likely borrow the Sonet’s 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, with a potential EV version boasting a claimed range of up to 450 km.

Launch and Price

An unveiling is expected by late 2024 or sometime in 2025. The petrol/diesel version might launch first, followed by the EV version a few months later. Hybrid options remain unclear. Pricing is estimated to start at Rs 14 lakh and go up to Rs 26 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

The Kia Clavis is shaping up to be a feature-rich SUV with a unique selling proposition. Stay tuned for further updates as we inch closer to the official launch!
