Hero MotoCorp’s EV brand, Vida, is set to expand its V2 electric scooter lineup with a more budget-friendly model. A new variant, possibly called the Vida V2 Z, was recently spotted testing without camouflage, hinting at an upcoming launch.
New Hero Vida Electric Scooter Spotted! 🏍️
The test mule of this upcoming affordable electric scooter was seen in a bright yellow shade, sharing similarities with the existing Vida V2 series. It retains LED lights, alloy wheels, telescopic front suspension, and twin rear shock absorbers. However, Hero has made a few tweaks, including a revised tail lamp, updated front apron, and a new single-piece grab rail and seat, giving it a fresh look.
What to Expect? 🤔
Industry experts believe that this new Vida model could be positioned below the current entry-level V2 Lite, making electric scooters even more accessible to Indian buyers. The budget-friendly EV segment is growing fast, with brands like Ola, TVS, Bajaj, and Ather also competing aggressively.
The upcoming scooter is expected to share the same 2.2 kWh battery pack as the Vida V2 Lite, offering a claimed range of 94 km. However, some sources speculate that Hero might introduce it as a separate model rather than just another V2 variant.
Current Vida V2 Lineup & Features 🔋⚡
Hero’s Vida V2 series currently has three models: Lite, Plus, and Pro. The top-spec Pro variant comes with a 3.94 kWh battery, delivering a claimed 165 km range and an acceleration of 0-40 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. Across the range, Vida scooters offer features like removable batteries, LED lighting, keyless entry, regenerative braking, cruise control, and digital TFT displays. The Pro model also includes four riding modes for better versatility.
Hero’s Big Move in India’s EV Market 🔥
With the electric two-wheeler market heating up, Hero Vida is looking to capture a larger audience by introducing a cost-effective EV. While official details on pricing, specifications, and launch date are yet to be announced, this new budget electric scooter could be a game-changer for affordable electric mobility in India.
