Force Motors has finally pulled the wraps off the highly anticipated Gurkha five-door, alongside an update to the three-door model. Bookings for the five-door Gurkha are now open, with a Rs. 25,000 reservation amount.
The official launch and pricing will be revealed on May 2nd, with deliveries expected to begin mid-May. Leaks suggest the official brochure has already surfaced online.
A Practical Off-Roader for Families
The five-door Gurkha is designed for adventure-loving families. The three-door model, while capable, hasn’t seen significant sales. By offering a more practical option, Force Motors aims to steal a march on Mahindra, whose Thar five-door launch is still some time away (expected by August 15th). Until then, the Gurkha five-door will compete with the Thar three-door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
Familiar Design with a Functional Twist
Force Motors hasn’t strayed far from the Gurkha’s signature design. The five-door retains the three-door’s bold look, including the Gurkha-lettered grille, circular LED headlights with DRLs, front bumper, snorkel, and other elements.
The side profile remains largely unchanged, featuring wide black fender flares and door cladding. The key addition, of course, is the new set of doors for rear passengers. Eighteen-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels add a touch of style.
A roof carrier and integrated metal staircase at the rear round out the familiar Gurkha look. As an accessory, a front windscreen bar will also be available.
Interior Upgrades for Comfort and Tech
The interior continues to utilize hard plastics extensively, but some welcome updates are present. A brand new nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage, offering Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity.
Drivers will appreciate the tilt and telescopic steering wheel, while an electronic 4-wheel drive selector and manual air conditioning system add convenience. The middle row features a bench seat, while the last row boasts captain’s chairs for a more comfortable ride.
New Engine Boosts Power
The old 2.6-liter diesel engine is retired in favor of a more powerful option. The new motor churns out 140 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission. The Gurkha five-door retains all the off-roading equipment found on its three-door sibling.
With its familiar yet functional design, upgraded interior features, and a more powerful engine, the Force Gurkha five-door is poised to challenge the established players in the off-road SUV segment. The upcoming launch will reveal its exact pricing and solidify its position as a compelling choice for families seeking adventure without sacrificing practicality.
