Mahindra XUV 300 the safest vehicle – Global NCAP

Mahindra XUV 300 achieve 5-star in NCAP Test

Nowadays Indian cars scoring 5 stars in Global NCAP crash tests like the Tata Nexon and Tata Altroz. Tata has set a high line for passenger cars. Finally, Mahindra joins a 5-star rating car group. It is the Mahindra XUV300 which got 5 stars in global NCAP crash tests. In fact, XUV300 score 5 stars with scoring more points than the Tata Nexon and Tata Altroz. The Mahindra XUV300 scored  16.42 points out of 17, while the Altroz scored 16.13 points and the Nexon scored 16.06 points. This makes the Mahindra XUV300 the safest cat in Indian by test Global NCAP.

It scored 5 stars in adult occupant safety and 4 stars in child safety. The XUV300 scored 37.44 points out of a possible 49 points which is the highest rating that any Indian car has received so far. The Nexon and the Altroz scored 25 and 29 points respectively.

Global NCAP tests the entry-level variants of the respective models. The standard safety features in Mahindra XUV300 include dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner braking control, all 4 disc brakes, ISOFIX, collapsible steering and side intrusion beam, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder, speed-sensing door lock, impact sensing door unlock, high mounted stop lamp and panic braking signal. Global NCAP said that the structure and the footwell area were stable. It offered good protection for the head and neck along with the knees as well. The chest protection was rated good while for the driver, it was adequate.

Mahindra XUV 300 Engine Specification

Based on Mahindra’s South Korean subsidiary Ssangyong’s Tivoli platform. Mahindra XUV300 is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine is BS6-compliant and generates 110 bhp with 200 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine is BS4-compliant and generates 115 bhp with 300 Nm of torque. Both the powertrains are offered with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. The option of auto-shift transmission is also available with a 6-speed in the diesel engine.

Mahindra Marazzo, Toyota Etios, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Volkswagen Polo, and Tata Zest are the other passenger cars in India that earlier received four-star adult safety rating from Global NCAP. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Ford Aspire, Renault Duster and Honda Mobilio were the other models that received a 3-star adult safety rating from India.

Mahindra XUV 300 features

The standard features you get with Mahindra XUV 300 in all across variants are dual airbags, ABS with EBD, cornering brake control, disc brakes for all four wheels are first in the segment, a front seatbelt reminder system, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, and a passenger airbag deactivation switch. The W8(O) model, however, is more feature-loaded than other trims, it gets 7 airbags, front parking sensors, ORVMs, 3 point seatbelt for middle passenger, seatbelt warning indicator for all passengers. Alo it gets 7 airbags that is first in segment feature.

Mahindra XUV 300 Price
