Tata Motors is about to hit the gas with a series of exciting new car launches planned for the coming months. What’s particularly interesting is that each car targets a distinct segment, showcasing Tata’s commitment to catering to a wide range of car buyers in India. Let’s delve into the details of these upcoming Tata cars:
1. Altroz Racer: A Treat for Enthusiasts

Finally arriving after its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo, the Altroz Racer is set to launch in April. This sporty hatchback boasts significant upgrades under the hood, featuring a powerful 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine churning out 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. Appealing directly to driving enthusiasts, the Altroz Racer is likely to come with a manual gearbox only. Feature-wise, expect a modern cabin with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a digital instrument cluster, and wireless charging for added convenience.
2. Curvv: The Versatile Crossover

Arguably Tata’s most anticipated launch of the year, the Curvv caters to a broader audience by offering both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) variants. The EV version is expected to hit the market by June 2024, boasting an estimated real-world driving range of around 400 kilometers on a single charge. The ICE variant, arriving later in the year, is likely to offer three engine choices: a 1.2-liter turbo petrol, a 1.5-liter turbo petrol, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Packed with features, the Curvv might include a panoramic sunroof, a premium Harman sound system, ventilated seats, a 12-inch infotainment system, and a comprehensive driver-assistance package with a blind-spot monitor.
3. Nexon iCNG: A Pioneering CNG Option

Earlier this year, Tata unveiled the Nexon iCNG at the Bharat Mobility Show, grabbing attention as India’s first turbo petrol CNG car. Expected to launch by mid-2024, the Nexon iCNG combines Tata’s proven 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine with a CNG setup. While exact specifications remain undisclosed, significant powertrain changes are unlikely. The Nexon iCNG is expected to retain the impressive 230-liter boot space offered in the petrol version. With CNG prices generally lower than petrol, the Nexon iCNG is likely to be priced around Rs. 1 lakh more than its corresponding petrol variants.
Beyond these three cars, Tata has hinted at a few other exciting possibilities in the pipeline, including electric versions of the Harrier and Safari SUVs. Stay tuned for further updates on these and other upcoming Tata car launches!
